JA Recovery is not a medical, clinical, or emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice, and its Emergency Accountability button alerts the coach you paired with — nobody else. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away.
Open Home → The Touchpoint and enter your coach’s email address. They must already have a coach account in JA Recovery. Pairing takes effect immediately — from that point they can see the check-ins you submit.
It sends an alert to your paired coach, with an optional note, and records it in your history. It reaches that one person and nobody else. It does not contact emergency services. If the alert cannot be delivered the app tells you so, and you should contact your coach directly.
In The Touchpoint you can set a Pulse Check level — 6, 7, 8 or 9 out of 10 — at which an alert goes to your coach without you pressing anything. The default is 8. Set it where you want it; it is your call, not your coach’s.
Not yet. The app schedules one local reminder at 08:00 in your own time zone, and it moves to tomorrow as soon as you tick the routine. You can switch notifications off entirely for JA Recovery in your device’s Settings.
You cannot. A role is chosen when the account is created and is fixed afterwards, because a coach’s roster and a member’s history are not interchangeable records. Write to us and we will help you move to a new account.
Apple only shares your name the very first time you authorize an app, so if that first attempt did not complete the account may have been created without it. Fix it in Profile → Personal Information.
In the app: open Profile, tap Delete Account, and confirm. The account and everything in it are deleted straight away, on iPhone, iPad and Android alike. A coach account is deleted the same way, and every member paired with it is disconnected.
Without the app: write to john@jarecovery.org from the email address on the account with “Delete my account” in the subject line. We delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
Either way, we delete the account, its check-ins, timer sessions, boundary phrases, service logs, notifications, device records, avatar and any SOS alerts. Nothing is kept afterwards. Individual history entries can be deleted yourself at any time from History Logs, without deleting the account.
Email john@jarecovery.org. We answer within two business days. Please include the email address on your account and whether you are using a member or a coach account — it is the fastest way to find the right record.
For anything about your data specifically — a copy of it, a correction, or deletion — use the same address and say so in the subject line.
